PANGASINAN is one of the provinces in the REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES. It is located on the west central area of the island of LUZON. The total area of this province is 5,368.82 square kilometers.
The Pangasinan language is the primary language in Pangasinan. The estimated population of the indigenous speakers of this language is about 1.5 million.The name Pangasinan means "land of salt" or "place of salt-making"; it is derived from asin, the word for "salt" in the Pangasinan language. The province is a major producer of salt in the Philippines.The provincial capital is "LINGAYEN"


Lingayen is a 1st class municipality in the province of Pangasinan on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. It is the capital municipality and seat of government of the province of Pangasinan. According to the latest census, it has a population of 95,773 people in 16,467 households.

Lingayen was one of strategic points during World War II. Lingayen's long beach served as runway for several attack planes. It is also the birth place of President Fidel V. Ramos. Lingayen is also considered as the "most romantic place in the Philippines".
